We want to extend our heartfelt congratulations to all players who participated in the month’s leaderboards. July marked a significant milestone with the launch of our first Building Blocks Special Event, which coincided with the debut of our new Guild functionality. This event not only spurred a wave of new Guild memberships—over 6,000 in total—but also provided valuable insights and feedback that are helping us refine the player experience.

Looking ahead to August, we’re excited to continue evolving our leaderboard system, introducing new reward structures, and gathering data to enhance player engagement.

July Leaderboard Recap

Massive congratulations to all our player’s participating in July’s Leaderboards. We are in a continued process of experimenting with new Reward modes until we find the right balance between meaningful rewards and player engagement.
July’s Leaderboard saw the introduction of our first Building Blocks Special Event, with this Event coinciding with the debut of Guild functionality we wanted to add some special incentives for players to play and be rewarded collaboratively. As a result we tried to go wide and deep with Rewards, and give Guilds plenty of reason to recruit new members.
The Building Blocks Special Event was associated with over 6,000 new Guild Members joining GOG’s Guilds! This was a massive increase in Guild activity and we received a ton of helpful feedback.
We are deeply appreciative of your efforts here, and recognise that there were some pain points associated with resetting squads and equipment layouts that impacted your enjoyment of the game. We have taken your feedback onboard and are actively working on improvements.

August Leaderboard Announcement

August will see us continue to use the Global Leaderboard Ranking system as we continue to gather data and feedback on our new Tiering system.
Endless, Arena, and Rush Leaderboard Rewards will begin rewarding resources to top players, the criteria for Leaderboard inclusion has been narrowed from almost all players to the top 2,000
Special Events Reward structure will also be shaken-up! Instead of rewarding the majority of Idol’s for Guild Activity we will shift to providing more Idol rewards for individual (solo) efforts, we have removed resource rewards for Special Event Solo Leaderboards.
Special Event Guild Leaderboards Reward will be expanded to include not just Ascension Seals and Radiant Souls, but also Rubies, XP Scrolls and Gold
As always we value player feedback and are carefully monitoring player behaviour and signs of exploits to safeguard our game and economy

Wen Tokens?

We are currently working on enhancing $GOG Token Utility in partnership with Digital Worlds Foundation and have made a joint decision to suspend $GOG rewards to allow us time to ship features to enhance $GOG’s stability and utility. More information on Gruff’s Vault and $GOG Utility coming soon! In the meantime, visit the new $GOG ecosystem portal to discover more about the Guild of Guardians ecosystem.
