FAQ UPDATED: Get ready to migrate to Immutable zkEVM

As we embark on a journey to new frontiers, the Guild of Guardians experience is set for an unprecedented evolution. Our transformation from Immutable X, powered by Starkware, to Immutable zkEVM, powered by Polygon, detailed in our December announcement, is now on the horizon!

ICYMI, here’s why this transition marks a momentous occasion:

• Enhanced Gameplay: Through this transition, we’re elevating the game with sophisticated interactions enabled by smart contracts, creating a seamless experience
• Ethereum-grade Security & Efficiency: Benefit from Ethereum's robust security with the added advantage of faster and more cost-effective transactions.
• Advanced Tokenomics: Future staking programs on Immutable zkEVM introduces trustless systems and greatly improves the experience and rewards for $GOG staking participants. 
• Gas Free for Gamers: We will be sponsoring in-game gas fees for all Immutable Passport users at the outset, abstracting away these fees to enable frictionless onboarding and providing a streamlined gaming experience initially.

TLDR on the GOG zkEVM Migration;

GOG NFTs | ERC-721:

• We will be migrating all existing GOG NFTs from Immutable X to Immutable zkEVM on 4th March 2024 at 11am AEDT. All active trades for GOG NFTs on Immutable X will be canceled and the order book will be frozen.
• You will have to connect your existing wallet to Immutable Passport via Gamer Profile before 10am AEDT on 4 March 2024 for a cost-free migration.  Please keep in mind that in some parts of the world, this time and date may actually fall on 3 March 2024.
• If you DO NOT connect your wallet to Passport before 10am AEDT on 4 March 2024, your NFTs will be minted on the zkEVM address of your current wallet. 

$GOG Tokens | ERC-20:

• The portal where you can withdraw and transfer your $GOG tokens from Immutable X to Immutable zkEVM will be launching at the end of Feb 2024.
• If you hold more than 50 $GOG tokens on Immutable X as of 10am AEDT, 9 February 2024, and holds equal or greater $GOG balance on Immutable zkEVM 1 month after the token migration portal goes live, you will be rewarded with 50 $GOG tokens per wallet.

For Your GOG NFTs (ERC-721)

Connect your wallet to Immutable Passport BEFORE 10am AEDT on 4 March 2024: Link your wallet to Immutable Passport through your Gamer Profile no later than 10am AEDT on 4 March  2024. Please keep in mind that in some parts of the world, this time and date may actually fall on 3 March 2024.

Here’s how: 

1. Go to the Passport Dashboard (https://passport.immutable.com/)
2. Navigate to your External Wallets menu
3. Link your Metamask wallet

After which you’re all set; we’ll do the rest for you and without cost! At 11am (AEDT) on 4 March 2024,  all active trades for GOG NFTs on Immutable X will be cancelled and the order book will be frozen. We aim to complete the migration and have your GOG NFTs minted in your wallet you have linked with Immutable Passport by 6 March 2024.

If you miss the deadline: Should you fail to link your Metamask wallet to an Immutable Passport account before the cutoff time and date (10am AEDT, 4 March 2024), your GOG NFTs will still be migrated to zkEVM, directed to the same Metamask wallet address. To use these NFTs in Guild of Guardians, you will need to transfer them from your Metamask wallet to Passport on zkEVM, which will likely involve transfer/gas fees.  You can avoid these fees and extra steps by ensuring you do not miss the deadline.

⚠️Note:

• In preparation for the metadata updates, NFT metadata attributes on Immutable X will be updated on 1st March 2024 AEDT (previously 29 February 2024). NFT metadata of GOG NFTs on Immutable zkEVM will continue to be off-chain as it is today on Immutable X.
• As a reminder, we will be reducing the royalty fee to 0.5% on GOG Avatar NFTs when we migrate them to Immutable zkEVM.

For Your $GOG Tokens (ERC-20) 

‍$GOG Migration Portal: Updated as of February 28th. To make migrating from Immutable X to Immutable zkEVM as easy as we could, we have built a portal where you can withdraw and transfer your $GOG tokens from Immutable X (StarkEx) to Immutable zkEVM. 

Make sure to access the Token Migration Portal through the top navigation bar on our official website:  https://guildofguardians.com/

Keep in mind that you won’t find the Migration Portal URL directly on our social media channels or emails from us. 

Remember: Only navigate through the official Guild of Guardians website. 

Migration Made Easy: In 4 simple steps

Step 1: Connect Your Wallet
Head to the portal and link your existing MetaMask wallet containing your $GOG tokens that are currently on Immutable X.

Step 2: Withdraw from Immutable X

Enter the amount of $GOG tokens that you wish to withdraw from Immutable X

 Please keep in mind after initiating the withdrawal, it may take up to 24 hours to prepare the withdrawal of your tokens to Ethereum Layer 1.

Step 3: Complete the Withdrawal to Ethereum Layer 1

After your wait is over… Finalize the withdrawal to transfer your tokens onto Ethereum Layer 1.

This step might take up to 20 minutes, depending on the Ethereum network's current volume and associated gas fees.

Step 4: Move to Immutable zkEVM

With your tokens now on Ethereum Layer 1, deposit them onto Immutable's zkEVM through the Migration Portal.

Rewards for $GOG Holders: Guild of Guardians, alongside Guild Guardians Ltd, have created a rewards program as a way to give players a token of our appreciation. If you hold more than 50 $GOG tokens on Immutable X as of 10am AEDT, 9 February 2024 and hold equal or greater $GOG token balance on Immutable zkEVM 1 month after the token migration portal goes live, you will be rewarded with 50 $GOG tokens per wallet.

Navigating the Migration Safely

As you prepare for the migration of your GOG NFTs to zkEVM, it's crucial to prioritize the security of your digital assets. Follow these guidelines to safeguard your assets:

• Use Official Channels: Always conduct migration activities through official Guild of Guardians channels. 
• Verify Web Addresses: Always triple check the exact spelling and domain of web addresses you interact with.
• Avoid Suspicious Links: Never click on links from unverified emails / discord or other social channels. We will never send you emails directing you to destinations outside of our App Store Listing or Official Website. 
• Do not ever give out your seed phrase: We will NEVER ask for your passwords or wallet seed phrase, even to help troubleshoot issues you are facing.

Q: What do I have to do for the migration?

A: You will have to connect your existing wallet to Immutable Passport via Gamer Profile before 10am AEDT on 4 March 2024 for a cost-free migration.  Please keep in mind that in some parts of the world, this time and date may actually fall on 3 March 2024.

Q: Do I have to use an Immutable Passport?

A: Yes. Although you’re welcome to keep your NFTs stored in a Metamask wallet and connect it to your Passport as an external wallet, however the NFTs will be read-only.

Q: What if I store my $GOG tokens in a hardware wallet?

A: Your assets will stay in your hardware wallet. It is up to you whether you choose to migrate them to Immutable zkEVM.
