Gruff's Web Epoch Rewards - An update from the team
Commanders,
We want to be forthcoming about web staking rewards for Epoch 18, and share what we are doing to make it right.
What happened
Epoch 18 was the first epoch where web staking seasons aligned with Gruff's in-game gGoG rewards. In our communications at the time, we described how your total $GOG and gGoG holdings, staked or unstaked, would count toward your web epoch rewards.
What we did not communicate clearly is that the PLEDGE step on Gruff's Vault web remains a required step for legal staking reasons. Commanders who held qualifying balances and followed our guidance reasonably expected their rewards to be counted. We should have been clearer, and we are sorry for the confusion this caused.
What we are doing
We have reviewed the data and calculated the rewards that were missed as a result of this gap. For Epoch 20, we will be increasing the web staking reward pool to reflect those missed amounts, so that Commanders who participate correctly this epoch will benefit from a larger pool than usual.
On top of that, Epoch 20 marks two years of Guild of Guardians. To celebrate that milestone with the community, we will be adding to the pool further as a thank you for being part of this journey with us.
How to be eligible for Epoch 20 web staking rewards
To make sure you don't miss out, here is exactly what is required.
You must meet all standard web staking eligibility criteria:
- Hold a combined minimum of $GOG + gGoG that meets the required threshold
- Complete at least one of the following activities during the epoch:
- Visit Gruff's Vault: https://www.gog.community/portal/gruff-vault
- Enter your total pledge amount. This must be the combined total of your $GOG and all gGoG you wish to stake, both in-game and unstaked. Only the amount you enter here will be counted toward your web epoch rewards.
- Press CONFIRM PLEDGE
Your wallet balance must stay at or above your pledged amount for the entire epoch.
Rewards are distributed at the end of each epoch.
