AFK Rewards — Progress That Earns While You Live

In the old Elderym, Adventure Energy controlled your adventure pace — you swept through dungeon rooms, claimed your rewards… then waited for energy to fill up again. That system was a core mechanic of how dungeons worked and how Pets triggered bonuses after runs. If you ran out? You ended up sidelined.

With AFK rewards, players accumulate rewards in the background regardless of what they are doing, and whether they’re in-game or not.

Here’s how it works:

  • Rewards accrue automatically over time — you don’t need energy to trigger them.

  • There are two streams of rewards: consistent earn-as-you-go rewards and bonus rewards that trigger at longer intervals as you unlock milestones. Players will see their collective rewards when they press ‘collect’.

  • AFK rewards scale — the more you’ve progressed in-game, the better you’ll receive in rewards.

‍

We haven’t forgotten your Pets

Let’s talk about your companions — Pets! You already know that equipping up to three Pets lets you stack passive skills that add bonus rewards into your runs, like extra materials, coins, souls, and more. Each pet comes from one of three classes (Worker, Scout, Hunter), and rarity matters — Common and Rare Pets have one skill, while Epic and Legendary Pets pack two skills.

Under the old Adventure Energy-based system, pets would trigger their skills after you finished a Sweep or Run in dungeons. Those glowing paw icons showing “critical success” are part of what made pet rewards feel extra sweet — and yes, that still matters.

With AFK rewards your Pets and their skills have adapted, with their skills triggering as part of collecting your rewards. See below for the updated skills

Dungeon Progression Redesign

Previously dungeon rooms were repeatable after completion; players would use adventure potions to replay or sweep a room for rewards. Given that AFK rewards replaces the need to sweep rewards, dungeons have also been redesigned to better align with these changes

  • Every room stands alone — if you fail in one room you only repeat that specific room, not the entire run.

  • HP and skill resources don’t carry over between rooms — meaning every encounter feels fresh and tactical.
  • Dungeon trail rewards - a new set of rewards are now claimable upon the first time you finish a specific number of dungeons in a world. You’ll see this on the bottom left of the dungeon map. Rewards can only be claimed once.

Guild & VIP Perks

What’s New

Instead of perks that helped you stretch or regenerate energy, your VIP and Guild Perks now buff how far and fast your AFK rewards stack.

  • Higher AFK Reward caps

  • Faster AFK accrual rates per hour

  • More free Speed-Ups or bigger Speed-Up windows
  • Guild team bonuses that boost AFK output for everyone

Crafting material and Daily quests

We’ve simplified how players can earn crafting materials. Simply you’ll see steady streams of crafting materials in your AFK rewards.

Quests

With AFK rewards, there’s an even greater incentive to log in several times a day and claim your rewards. As part of this update we’ve also reviewed the daily quests to better reflect AFK rewards, which now include:

  • Claiming your AFK rewards

  • Triggering Speed-Ups

  • Using your crafting materials to forge and enhance gear
