April in Elderym
April 2026 · Guild of Guardians
Welcome back, Commanders. April was a month where things actually landed. Guild vs Guild arrived in beta and the reception was louder than anyone expected. Class Skills kept growing. A couple of small but welcome fixes are on their way. And with one day left in the month, Season 9 is two days out. Here is what happened in April — and what is coming.
Guild vs Guild Beta — You Showed Up
Guild vs Guild launched in beta earlier this month. The team went in expecting questions. What came back from the community was something else entirely.
Guild recruitment picked up almost immediately — people looking for active squads, guilds looking for players who would actually show up and play. The response was genuinely one of the most positive the team has seen, and it means a lot to everyone who has been working on this mode.
There was real feedback too. How points are earned, how the different phases work, what happens when a guild drops a tier mid-season — those questions came through clearly and the team has been working through them. Season 9's Guild vs Guild is the version that reflects all of that. The full $GOG prize pool is in. The economy is finalised. It is ready.
More on what is in the Season 9 GvG event — including the 225,000 $GOG pool and how to qualify — in the Season 9 blog linked at the bottom.
Class Skills — A Stronger Season 2
Class Skills Season 2 launched with a cleaner entry point than Season 1 — a new tutorial, a more straightforward reward structure, and a difficulty that lets people get through their first run without hitting a wall. Players who had skipped the mode entirely started trying it, and a good number of them kept going.
Two things still need fixing before Season 3 begins, and both are being addressed. The mode is too easy to miss — it will be more prominent when you log in so it is actually in front of you. And the rewards will be shown to you before you start, so you know what you are playing for before you commit. Simple fixes, but the right ones.
When Season 9 opens on 6 May, Class Skills Season 3 begins with it. Tank, Ranger, and Support each get a dedicated week, with a boss built around that week's class — and strategies that actually reward playing the class skill correctly. Week 4 opens all three on a shared leaderboard. The boss notes are in the Season 9 blog and worth a look before you queue.
Two Things Getting Fixed
Two smaller improvements are shipping with Season 9 that are worth knowing about.
The Guardian roster cap is going up. If you have been running out of space, you will have more room. And trash items in your inventory can now be salvaged for gold — if your bags are full of things you would never use, now they are worth something towards gear upgrades.
Season 9: Proving Grounds — Opens 6 May
Season 9 is our 2nd Anniversary season and it is a big one. The short version:
- Constantine — a brand-new Legendary Support joins the Summon Stone. The first pure healer in the Core 1 roster.
- Morax awakens to Legendary — three existing skills get stronger, and a fourth unlocks at Legendary only: Burn Brighter.
- Four Call Events, two special events with Champion Chromas, the Fayre Event, and the 15v15 Guild Supremacy.
- 225,000 $GOG on the line in Guild vs Guild — one winning guild per tier.
- Nearly 30 Guardians buffed across the roster in the broadest balance pass yet.
- Veteran recognition — if your account predates June 2024 or November 2025, check your in-game mail on day one.
Everything else — full event reward tables, GvG eligibility, boss strategies for Class Skills, and the complete balance breakdown — is in the Season 9 blog.

Class Skills will keep evolving. The next step is a progression track without a ceiling — something to keep working toward no matter how far along you are. That work is already underway.
Two years in. See you in the Proving Grounds.
